"Close, but no cigar," it means that you were close to achieving your goal, but you were not successful. This phrase is only reserved for those tasks that were very close to completion. The origin of this phrase actually comes from the traveling circuses and carnivals that traveled around the United States during the late 1900s and the early part of the twentieth century. During carnivals of the current day, painted mirrors and oversized stuffed animals are given as prizes. At the early carnivals, cigars were often given as prizes. "Close, but no cigar," was often yelled by game barkers to let everyone in the area know that if a little more, "oomph," was given, the cigar could have been won. The point of this phrase was to rile people in a way that they would spend their money to see if they could win the cigar that the last person failed to get. Newark - Zurich - Luzern - Interaken - Grindelwald - Zermatt - Bern -Zurich - Newark What's better in Switzerland? 1. 식당 테이블위에 재떨이. - 자유롭게 피는 담배. 길거리, 식당, 발코니 2. 기차, 산꼭대기, 시간/장소 구분없이 마시는 청정 맥주 Lager ! 3. 모든 산을 기차/케이블카 타고 정상까지 올라간다 하산길은 구간별 Hiking으로 마구 내려올 수 있다 4. 특별히 스위스 음식이랄게 없다. 프랑스와인,독일맥주,이탈리피자,파스타가 가까이 있으니..... 산골의 마을에서 가공식품, 우유,치즈,소시지가 맛있다. 신선한 채소들 또한 good! 5. Ground zero 에서 4158 meter Jungfrau 유럽의 가장 높은 정상까지 가볼수 있다. 기차타고! 스키인들의 성지. 연중 만년설을 만끽할수 있는 최고의 장소 아름답고 경이로운 생애 첫 유럽-스위스 여행의 추억을 남겨본다 DAY 0. 2023.3.16 목요일 저녁 7시 Newark to Zurich 7.5시간 비행 (취리히 아침 7:05am도착) 배고플까봐 공항에서 맛없는거 먹었는데, 기내식을 준다. 커리치킨 굳~~~ 먹고,와인까지 마시고 자면 스위스!!!!! Day 1. Zurich Flughafen -> Luzern 으로 IR70(Inter Region) 기차타고 이동(1시간) 9:51am Luzern 도착. 코인락커를 찾아 짐 넣고 시내관광. 문을 잘못 열었다가 두번 입금. XXL락커에 큰 트렁크 2개 넣고 남았다 13CHF (스위스 프랑) 무거운짐 넣고 가볍게 돌아다닐수 있어 편리하다. 유럽에서 가장 오래된 다리라는 카펠교를 보고 돌아다니다 보면 하루가 쓩! > 구시가지 > 무제크성벽(Museggmauer) > 빈사의 사자상 (공사중) 강변의 이쁜 식당에서 여유롭게 식사. 이탈리아 파스타는 경이롭게 심플하면서 맛있다. Italia Beer 까지.
